GEOnavigator
With the GEOnavigator, Etil visualises spatial trends in the fields of Housing, Economy and Real Estate. Socio-economic and spatial-economic structures and developments, can be dynamically analysed according to your own wishes and needs. By combining and enriching data from different sources, you always have the most up-to-date insights at all geographical levels.
Our method
We provide a solid foundation by collecting data from various sources, such as the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics or LISA, and subsequently processing and enriching these data. Besides external data-collection, we are also very active in research and monitoring. For example, the Central Real Estate Register (CVR), developed by Etil, feeds various Atlases in the field of the housing market and commercial real estate, whereas the Register for business establishments in Limburg (VRL) helps map the local economy in the province of Limburg.
Our starting point is the lowest possible geographical level. These data are then linked to an up-to-date set of maps. Depending on the most detailed geographical level, data can then be aggregated to any desired level. By enriching and combining multiple data sources and making the data spatially transparent, we transform data into information.
We configure, visualise and share our maps in Atlases using ArcGIS. We use different forms of data visualisation to provide immediate insights into various topics. For example, indicators are visualised using various symbols and colours. Various reference maps are designed in order to clarify the spatial context. In addition to map visualisations, we create graphs to further improve the strength of the analyses. We also add filtering and selection options to enable users to dynamically manoeuvre through the Atlas.
What are the benefits?
The GEOnavigator adds the "where" to information analysis. This creates insight into the fields of Housing, Economy and Real Estate on both regional and more detailed levels. This way, different areas can be compared at a glance, outliers can be identified easily, and any geographic clustering of a particular phenomenon can be mapped out. That is the power of the map; that is the GEOnavigator.
The GEOnavigator's technology is implemented for several products, such as the LimburgAtlas, BrabantAtlas, RoermondAtlas, WoonAtlas Parkstad (Residential Atlas), FaillissementsAtlas (Bankruptcy Atlas) en WinkelAtlas (Shop Atlas). Both the RoermondAtlas and the FaillissementsAtlas are publicly accessible.
